Tournament  Rules

All Grades :-

The 'champions league' system will be used, which will ensure a minimum of 3 games for every player.

The 'champions league' system is :-
a first stage of 4 leagues, each of 4  players. Every player in a league plays every other player in their league. The winners of each league will go through into the semi-final rounds for their grade, followed by the grand final for the grade.
With 16 players in a grade, this gives 3 matches in the league stage, followed by the semis and finals.

League Scoring :-

Points are allocated as:
1 point for each game won,
1 bonus point for the winner of the match.

In the event of a tie in a league, the points against will decide the winner, followed by the winner of the match between the tied players.

Rules for the weekend :-

  1. The winner of each match must referee or find a person to referee the next game on that court,
  2. No player will be allowed to switch grades once the tournament has commenced,
  3. Players must be at the court and ready to play half an hour before their matches,
  4. Tournament Referees decision is final.

Match Scheduling :-

For the A and B grades, all the league stage matches will be played and completed by the end of Saturday.
For the C and D grades, there may be some league stage games played on the Sunday morning.
On Sunday, all the semi-final and finals will be played, and should be completed by 17.00.
